Every child is an artist, the problem is staying an artist when you grow up. — Pablo Picasso
I am a painter of historical fiction. Inspired by the strength and charm of old garden gates, cottage interiors with crooked windows and painted, warn floorboards from years of good company. These are reminders of simpler times where stories and memories come from. My work also reflects calm and picturesque moments found in early morning beach walks, children splashing in the ocean, dogs fetching sticks, trickling streams and hidden paths. My palette knives, brushes and oil paints layer fresh, earthy colors and give texture, creating realistic impressions and capturing a feeling of place and time. The perspective used in my landscape and interior paintings bring you to places I have traveled and are reminders of beauty that surrounds us. All we really need are the unwrapped gifts found in our homes and outside the kitchen door.
